Local artists Jenny Henderson and Sue Rew will again be exhibiting in Great Wolford as part of this event. Sue’s studio is set in a lovely Cotswold garden where you can be inspired by examples of her pebble mosaics in garden settings and have a chance to see her latest work in progress.
Earlier this year Sue completed a project with 20 very enthusiastic children at Longborough Primary School. They chose their own mosaic designs and loved the fact we had a real ammonite as the centre of their pebble ammonite and we used colourful glass pebbles for dragonfly and bee wings. Their finished work is now in their playground.
Sue’s most recent commission was for Barton House. The drinking Doves Mosaic was inspired by a second century A.D
Mosaic from Villa Adriana, Tivoli and was a challenging project with a complicated wave border.
Jenny will be exhibiting her country inspired watercolours and is available to sign copies of her four illustrated books. Ten percent of all her book sales goes to charity. Jenny recently completed a lovely series of pictures featuring one of our endangered local species, the hedgehog, for Brockworth Hedgehog Rescue, a charity that we both support.
She is currently painting a series of watercolours featuring the Lake District for her future book which is a picture diary.
Finally to complete your visit there are home-made cakes and tea available on the terrace, which will be sold in support of the Brockworth Hedgehog Rescue Charity.
