On Sunday morning 14 June from 11.00 local ringers rang the Great Wolford church bells to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the signing (or sealing) of the Magna Carta. The day of the signing is recorded as 15 June 1215 but as we’ve had a change of calendar in the intervening years accurately celebrating the exact day becomes a little difficult! We rang some excellent called changes of a course of Grandsire doubles. The band consisted of; (left to right) Joanna Murphy, Steve Duck, Keith Murphy, Shirley Wrench, Tom Baker, and John Wrench.
